OpenAI’s upgraded GPT 4.5 AI model is expected to launch soon, but that is not stopping the AI company from bringing improvements to its existing GPT 4 Turbo. OpenAI has announced that its flagship large language model (LLM) now responds faster and has improved writing, math, logical reasoning, and coding. It also uses a more conversational language now.

However, these upgrades are limited to paid users since GPT 4 Turbo is only available to ChatGPT Plus and other paid subscriptions. That being said, the new model is only accessible to ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Enterprise subscribers. A Plus subscription costs $20 per month, a Team plan costs $25 per user per month, while the Enterprise pricing scales according to an organization’s needs.

Other than improvements in speed and accuracy, the new GPT 4 Turbo also has an updated knowledge cut-off date of December 2023 compared to the previous version which was only trained on data up to April 2023. This means that ChatGPT should be able to provide more up-to-date information following the update.

GPT 4.5

As mentioned earlier, GPT 4.5 is expected to launch in June this year as seen in recent leaks. These leaks showed that GPT 4.5 is going to be faster, more accurate, and will offer more scalability. It will have an updated knowledge cut-off date of June 2024, which is why it is widely believed that the updated model will debut during that time. June is also the launch anniversary of the original GPT 4 AI model.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has confirmed that a new and more powerful version of ChatGPT is coming soon and while he has not confirmed whether it is going to be GPT 4.5, it is the most likely contender given all the recent leaks.

OpenAI’s Sora AI video generator is also expected to launch soon. While a precise launch date remains unclear. OpenAI CTO Mira Murati has recently confirmed that the AI model will launch “within a few months.” The startup has already started working with Hollywood to produce stunning short films produced using Sora. It is unclear if it will be available through paid ChatGPT subscriptions or as a separate product.
